awesome little laptop

great battery life, compact, light, versatile. only a couple of things may hold you back from buying it, the processor is not the fastest but it does the job well, and no dvd/cd drive, however the portability makes up for it. has a built in webcam and wifi. couldnt ask for more. the keyboard is a bit cramped but after some use your hands will get used to it.

I bought this netbook about a month ago. So far, I love it!

The battery life seems to be between 4 - 6 hours, depending on what you're doing. The keyboard is a little small, but since I'm female, that's not been a problem for me. The keys are always where I think they *ought* to be, so no complaints, there. The color is just gorgeous, and is more on the plum side, for those who find this important.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Windows 7 Starter, as I had read horror stories about the limitations it has. This hasn't been a problem for me, yet, and I really don't expect it to be. I mostly surf the web, get email, and watch streaming videos occasionally. I wasn't expecting it to actually HAVE Windows Media Player, since I knew it didn't have Media Center, but it DOES have the player, and it works just fine. As far as Windows 7 Starter, it seems fairly speedy, once I downloaded Spybot S & D, which is what I use to control startup programs. I run a fairly strict firewall, and some other anti-spy software, and this little machine has had NO trouble keeping up with what I want it to do.

The sound and picture are decent, it doesn't get overly warm on the bottom, which my other laptop does, and it has the coolest feature for logging on, which my son LOVES: facial recognition using the included web cam.

Overall, I would purchase again. Amazon's shipping was timely, I had it in about 3 business days, although I wish they would pack electronics as well as they do their books. It did have air pillows in the box, but they had worked their way onto one side, so the manufacturer's box was sliding back and forth inside the Amazon box.

I am more than satisfied with this product. It does everything it is supposed to do. There are a few things I dont like though... Office is a 60 day trial as is McAfee...and i am not getting 6 hrs out of the battery, more like 4. But, this is a good little computer.

In HMV at the moment there is a deal on for the new Pink Nintendo DSi + Style Boutique Game + Lego Indiana Jones Game + Accessories Pack for £149.99

If I spend another £25 in HMV, I will recieve a £50 HMV voucher as a reward, so I was thinking I could use the reward to get it for £99.99 instead, which is quite a good deal.

Answer:

I'd get the DS lite over the DSi anyday. All the DSi has done is rid the DS of it's compatibility with GBA games, which I really value, and replace it with some pretty useless features. I assume your phone has a camera so you really don't need the DSi's.

If you want the bundle specifically, get that, but I'd say save the money and keep the GBA compatibility. I don't know how much the DS lite is in the UK but it will be a fair bit less.

Golf Carts - an Overview

Electric golf carts arrived at the first courses to use them in 1951. Merle Williams from Reading, California produced the first electric golf carts using knowledge he attained from electric cars produced during the World War Two gasoline rationing period. In 1954 E-Z-GO and LEKTRO began production and in 1955 Cushman began production. Harley Davidson even started making golf carts in 1963. Gas golf carts came upon the scene in 1971 and immediately became a huge hit. Currently you will see both gas and electric carts at most golf courses.

A standard golf cart is set up to carry two golfers and two golf bags on a platform at the rear of the cart. Most carts have a roof and front windshield. If you are into cold weather golf you can find carts with enclosures. The enclosures are usually made of flexible heavy duty plastic and have a door with a window on each side that closes snugly with velcro. The last few years propane gas "cart heaters" have also been available. I can tell you from experience that they produce a lot of heat. You can ride down the cart path when it's freezing outside and inside the cart it will be toasty warm. They come with a small propane tank attached that fits in the cup holder in the golf cart. Another nice add-on is a convertible bag cover attached to the rear of the golf cart's roof. It is easy to quickly put it up or down, and will keep the rain off the clubs and features a clear vinyl window. Another nice feature available at some golf courses is the GPS system, which will tell you how far it is in yards to the pin.

There are also options available like the cargo box which is mounted to the cart in the rear, turning the cart into a utility vehicle. The cargo boxes are usually about 2 1/2 feet wide and from three to four feet long. They are great for golf course maintenence, or around the homestead. Another option is a rear facing seat which then turns the golf cart into a small vehicle which seats three passengers and the driver. These are usually utilized for hotel or large motel guest transportation. Who can forget the pink golf cart used in the television series "Fantasy Island"?

The last subject I want to touch on is the monster cart. Usually monster carts are brightly and decoratively painted, and have any number of option add-ons like raiser kits, which bring the height of the cart up, racey wheel kits and large tires, lights front and rear, horns, a number of front and/or rear bumper configurations, and custom bodies and interiors are readily available.

The clubs are left handed and not of a good enough quality to suit a member of a golf team. If you are a serious player you need a serious set of clubs to play with. Most major manufacturers have ladies clubs in their line ups and some lesser known brands are better than others.Snake Eyes available through Golfsmith have a Python model that can be built with a pink head, shaft and grip. Store Ontario greenhouse cucumbers in a cool place for up to ten days. Mini cucumbers should be kept in the refrigerator crisper for up to two weeks in their original packaging or cling-on film. Greenhouse "cukes" are wrapped in plastic to seal-in their natural moisture and prolong shelf life. Remember, Ontario greenhouse cucumbers do NOT require peeling. Their thin, un-waxed skin is completely edible. This means NO waste from the cucumber.

Avoid storing any cucumbers with fruits that produce the natural ripening agent ethylene, such as apples, pears and bananas.

How to select

Look for seedless cucumbers that are a deep, vivid green in colour. They should be blemish-free and heavy for their size. Check to ensure there are no soft spots or blemishes, especially at the ends.

When to find them

Ontario greenhouse cucumbers can be found all year long! You will find greenhouse cucumbers wrapped or mini cucumbers in bags or trays.

Did you know?

Greenhouse cucumbers are seedless because they are not pollinated. This is especially helpful for preventing gas caused by eating cucumber seeds!

The black prom dress has and will always be a great choice for prom night. A lot of the time it's as gorgeous as it is versatile. Personally I think brightly colored shoes look amazing with a black dress. If it's a shorter dress try on some open toed or strappy heels in different colors like hot pink or a bright blue. You can also try metallic shoes in gold or silver depending on any accessories you plan on wearing with the dress. Sequin shoes can work well too, especially if they resemble any gems you may be wearing, for example red sequin shoes go great with rubies. If you have a long black prom dress I would suggest black shoes so they blend. You can still glam it up a bit though by getting a pair with rhinestone decor or something of that nature. By the way, if you you wear open toes with any style of black prom dress be sure to get a pedicure done with a great paint job!

As far as accessories go I think earrings are an absolute must and dangler, chandelier or shoulder dusters look great because mostly all prom dresses are either strapless or expose a lot of skin a above the bust. I find a necklace is optional but it does look rather fetching when it's worn in a set that matches the earrings. Keep Dyes, Preservatives & Sugars at Bay - A Yummy Recipe to Show You the Way

Have you ever looked at the ingredients in  ready made frostings? Many of the ingredients that are found include dyes to formulate the pretty colors, artificial ingredients and preservatives to enhance the  taste. Oh – and let's not forget  lots and lots  of sugar. Ah – a dream food for those with a sweet tooth and kids who go bonkers from the sugar high. Even in many homemade  recipes -  the  average  amount of sugar for a frosting recipe can  range anywhere from one to two cups. For those who don't have time to bake cakes from scratch, there are some great boxed options for preservative free, low sugar cakes. Frosting on the other hand, presents a bit of a challenge.

 There has been an ongoing debate for decades regarding the use of dyes to improve food, and singled out in many of these arguments is red food coloring. Despite the controversy, red dyes are still seen  in the ingredients lists of  many boxed and canned frostings. Particularly in decorative frostings that are pink and purple. Red Dye Number 2  is a tar-based product known to cause constriction of the bronchial tubes, angioedema (swelling) and hives.

 As we are all becoming  more aware of  the  harmful effects of dyes, preservatives and high sugar, many families are trying to find healthier desserts. On a quest to research what was in our stores for a "healthier frosting", I was disappointed to find just one. The frosting was made by Cherry Brook Kitchen and  did not have any preservatives, artificial colors or dyes. However, I was on a quest to find or create the perfect  pink frosting for my four little girls. My healthy frosting quest become even more complicated, since red dye is used to create pink. Of course the frosting had to be PINK, PINK, PINK. So what was a chef to do with four demanding customers at her feet? I did what any chef would do even in the most stressful situations – EXPERIMENT. So the five of us put on our princess aprons, our  thinking caps and rhinestone crowns. After many experiments in the kitchen, we found  a quick, easy way to make pink frosting without the preservatives or dyes. Here is our super healthy semi- homemade recipe for Spring Tulip Cupcakes! A scrumptious recipe for a spring birthday party or  a "girls day in".

 The recipe from start to finish takes about 30 minutes. Unless you have four little assistants who never stop chattering, get side tracked by using spatulas as microphones and lose the cupcake wrappers because they are now Barbie's new hat!

 INGREDIENTS

 Cake Mix

Cheerybrook Kitchen Yellow Cake Mix. My favorite boxed cake mix because it is  nut free, dairy free, preservative free,  gluten free, and  very simple to make.

 Pink Frosting

 One package of Philadelphia  cream cheese

Frozen Organic Cherries

Powdered Sugar

Horizon Organic Milk

 Mix one 8 oz package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, one tablespoon of powdered sugar & one tablespoon of organic milk. Mix on medium setting until creamy. Heat  ½ cup of organic frozen cherries on stove or in microwave until liquid base. Heat on a very low setting. Pour ½ tablespoon of cherry juice into cream cheese base and start mixing again on medium speed. This is a bit experimental because you may need more if you want a darker pink color, so start with no more than ½ tablespoon. You may also add another tablespoon of sugar if you desire a sweeter frosting. Most recipes require one to two cups of sugar, so this amount is relatively low. The icing picks up  the natural sweetness from the cherries with a mild tart kick and compliments the natural sweet tones of the cake.

 Once cool, frost the cupcakes and top each one with a tulip topper and stack on the tower.. Voila -  it looks just like something Martha would do!! Check out leisanaples.com for more healthy recipes your family will love.

When my mom was pregnant with me, she only did a special thing for her mother. She took a really nice small box, and filled it with pink shiny confetti and at the bottom it was a little blue card and on the inside it said "its a boy". Tricked my grandma and she said she really liked it. She got a laugh because she thought it would have been a girl because the color of the confetti.
For everyone else she sent everyone pink cards with a blue card in it that said "it's a boy". Tricked everyone else too.
Everyone said they liked it. It was a homemade card with the ultrasound picture on the inside.
My grandma got one too, but she also got that fun little box.

The cupcake idea sounds good, but I know my grandma would have been disappointed if my mom didn't give her something she could put in her china cabinet.

Bad reviews pop up about all items bought online, but it matters a lot if they're justified, or the person buying the product should educate themselves before they make the purchase.

Don't let yourself be fooled by unjustified bad reviews about netbooks and consider these points before you decide to go for a big bulky notebook that runs out of battery juice in a couple hours.

1. Netbooks have unmatched battery times and you don't really have to look to spot one that works for more than 10+ hours on one charge. Some reviewers even skip this feature and strike a 1 point judgment based on other things.

2. Netbooks are easy to carry around thanks to their confined outer size and low weight. You would have a hard time getting a normal notebook that weighed less than 3 lbs while you have to look hard to find a netbook that actually weighs more than that.

3. Their price is as low as price of a fully functional mobile computing device can be. There are things that a mini notebook computer can't do and you will find out which ones are those, but things they can do, they do well.

4. Bad reviews don't consider the small size these devices achieve. If you were thinking about a computer that can get everything done but nicely fits your backpack without taking up any particular amount of space, you were closer to getting a netbook than you think.

5. Netbooks are often pointed towards women. Computing is a masculine sport, but computers are not for scientific applications only, and every year more women start to use the internet. Mini notebooks are made exactly for that so it's no wonder women buy them. Manufacturers have already realized this and released their line of designer computers. If you were looking for a pink laptop by any chance, a netbook is your best bet.

6. Bad reviews don't tell you that these devices are not made for graphic and processor intensive applications. Whoever thinks they can be sold as a primary computer is wrong. I have been using mine for six months and I'm the first to admit that there are things I can't do, but I knew that when I bought it. People who pull the average score towards zero are not educated at the matter.

7. One pointer reviews don't mention the fact that you can get a netbook with all major wireless communication connectors readily integrated. Even basic models have 802.11bgn, Bluetooth, 3G and Ethernet connectors so that you don't have to run around looking for a USB dongle. In notebooks few of these connectors are not nearly as common.
